Cashew organisation expands strech to Africa

The Vietnam Cashew Association inked 3 memoranda of understanding
with a African partners during a discussion for general business in
the cashew zone in Ho Chi Minh City on Nov 28, 2013.
The partners embody a Association of Cashew Exporters in Ivory Coast,
the National Cashew Association of Nigeria and a National Council of
Benin Cashew Exporters.
Another 8 agreements were also reached by cashew exporters and importers during a event.
According to President of a Vietnam Cashew Association Nguyen Duc
Thanh, Vietnam has processed about one million tonnes of tender cashew
nuts annually for a past dual years.

remaining for imports from Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia and Western African
countries, he said.
African representatives told a conference
that many large cashew exporters such as Ivory Coast , Guinea Bissau and
Nigeria wish to see Vietnamese businesses’ investment in cashew nut
processing technologies in their countries.
They cited the
Nigerian Government’s favoured policies towards unfamiliar investors in
processing cashew nuts and shells, charity an grant of corporate

The Ivory Coast side
expressed their wish for team-work with Vietnamese businesses, saying
they are peaceful to offer taxation and cost incentives for investors in
processing technologies.

technologies to Africa by a assistance and send of
machinery and technologies.
Vietnam’s cashew zone is
expected to trade 250,000 tonnes of cashew nuts this year, grossing
