A mission of Cashew Cotton
Council is since February 17 in the Middle East and Asia to promote the Cashew
"made in Ivory Coast" considered better globally.
This promotion mission comes
after the launch of the 2016 campaign marketing of cashews for which a minimum
price edge field of 350 CFA per kilogram was made official by the Government on
10 February. Besides promoting cashew nut made in Côte d'Ivoire, the mission
aims to promote exceptional third country, after the adoption of the reform of
the sector in 2013.
The first step of this mission
led the Ivorian delegation to Dubai, the Middle East from 18 to 21 February.
Where she participated in Word 2016 Cashew Convention annual meeting structures
and players in the global cashew sector. This agreement, which is in its second
edition allows exporters and importers of raw cashew nuts and cashew kernels,
industrial equipments and processing promoters, private and governmental
support structures to meet and discuss the issues and developments in the
global cashew industry.
Due to its position as the
leading producer and exporter of raw cashew nuts, the Ivorian delegation
received during the two and a half days of work, five interventions, which
allowed him to introduce changes in the sector of cashew in Cote Ivory,
investment opportunities. And invite participants from Asia, Europe, America
and Africa to the 2nd edition of the International Exhibition of Equipment and
the Cashew Processing Technology
(SIETTA) scheduled from 17 to 19
November 2016 in Abidjan.
The Ivorian delegation then
traveled to Ho Chi Minh City to participate in the Vietnam Cashew Association
(VINACASS) meeting bringing together all the players in the value chain of
cashew in Vietnam. Vietnam is a great country cashews, walnuts second importer
of Ivorian origin and leading exporter of cashew kernels. It is now a country
at the forefront of cashew processing technologies. The participation of the
Ivorian delegation at this meeting was a first in trade between the two
countries on cashew.
This meeting allowed the
Vietnamese to reassure stakeholders on measures to improve the quality of
Ivorian cashew, traceability and security of commercial transactions. It also
involves taking into account the discussions, concerns Ivorians operators in
terms of securing contracts for exports of raw cashews, particularly as regards
the payment and management of the quality of the claims landing.
Additionally a technical
assistance agreement between TECNOLOGY BUSINESS INCUBATOR (POLYTECHNIC OF HO
CHI MINH CITY) and the TECHNOLOGY CENTRE CAJOU (CTC) under construction at the
Technopole Yamoussoukro was signed. This agreement concerns the transfer of
technology and déquipement to strengthen the CTC.
